- Bacon: You can personalize your bacon-wrapped hot dogs by using different types of bacon, such as maple-glazed, peppered, or smoked bacon, to add unique flavors.
- Hot Dogs: I recommend using high-quality hot dogs with your preferred flavor and texture. Consider options like beef, pork, chicken, or veggie dogs based on your dietary preferences.
- Hot Dog Buns: The choice of hot dog buns can greatly impact the overall enjoyment of your hot dog. You can use classic white buns, potato, brioche, pretzels, or gluten-free buns. If you have an egg allergy, make sure your buns are egg-free.
- Toppings of your Preference: Bacon-wrapped hot dogs pair well with a wide range of toppings. You can keep it simple with classic condiments like mustard and ketchup or get creative with additional toppings such as chopped tomatoes, onion, and jalapenos, like I did this time. However, the possibilities are endless! Check my favorite toppings ideas below.

- Heat the Grill
Heat the grill or skillet to medium heat.

Wrap bacon tightly around hot dogs, tucking in the ends of bacon slices to secure.

Tips To Make the Best Hot Dogs
Choose the Right Hot Dogs. Select high-quality hot dogs with your preferred flavor and texture. Consider options like beef, pork, chicken, or veggie dogs based on your dietary preferences.
Toast the Buns. Place the buns in a toaster oven or broil them for a minute to toast them before serving.
Use Kitchen Tongs. Use tongs to handle the hot dogs and avoid piercing them, as this can cause the juices to escape and dry them out.
Avoid Overcooking. To prevent a dry and rubbery texture, it’s important to pay close attention to the cooking time and avoid overcooking the hot dogs. Once they’re heated through and have a slight char, it’s best to remove them from the grill.
Make Ahead. Just wrap the bacon around the hot dogs and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to cook. Then when you’re ready, simply grill the wrapped hot dogs on the stovetop in a skillet or on your grill. So easy, and they’ll be done baking in just minutes!
Get Creative with the Toppins. Feel free to mix and match different toppings based on your preferences and create your own unique combination.

Instructions
- Heat grill, or a skillet, to medium heat. Pro-Tip: Oil the Grill Grates: To prevent the hot dogs from sticking, lightly oil the grill grates before placing them on the grill. This also helps create those desirable grill marks.
- Wrap bacon tightly around hot dogs, tucking in the ends of bacon slices to secure. Grill 8 to 10 minutes until bacon is done and wieners are heated through, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels. Note: Alternately, you can cook the bacon-wrapped wieners in the oven: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 400º F (200º C) or until bacon is thoroughly cooked and hot dogs are browned.
- Meanwhile, brush mayo evenly onto both sides of the hot dog buns; grill for 1 – 2 min. on each side or until lightly toasted.
- Place a bacon-wrapped dog in each bun. Add the toppings of your preference. Serve immediately.
- I added chopped tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, ketchup, and mustard.
- Choose the Right Hot Dogs. Select high-quality hot dogs with your preferred flavor and texture. Consider options like beef, pork, chicken, or veggie dogs based on your dietary preferences.
- Secure the Bacon. To secure the bacon, carefully break 10 toothpicks in half. Wrap each hot dog in a slice of bacon and place a toothpick half at each end. Remember to remove the toothpick before serving.
- Toast the Buns. Place the buns in a toaster oven or broil them for a minute to toast them before serving.

- Avoid Overcooking. To prevent a dry and rubbery texture, it’s important to pay close attention to the cooking time and avoid overcooking the hot dogs. Once they’re heated through and have a slight char, removing them from the grill is best.
- Make Ahead. Just wrap the bacon around the hot dogs and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to cook. Then when you’re ready, simply grill the wrapped hot dogs on the stovetop in a skillet or on your grill. So easy, and they’ll be done baking in just minutes!
