Please summer, can you slow down?
Oh boy! Today is the last day of July. Time is flying by… and way too fast!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE summer. The love I have towards it is inspired by the fact that back home is summer all year long, and this hot weather brings back many wonderful memories. What I miss most, beside my family, of course, is to live close to the beach. Like they say, Life’s a beach, and that’s a saying that really applies to me. The sound of the waves, the breeze, the smell… brings me peace.
There are some foods, that in my head, represent summer – like seafood, coleslaw, and tostones (fried green plantains). Therefore, to celebrate summer we’re having Miso Grilled Shrimp with Mustard Soy Sauce!!
Quick and delicious! This amazing miso grilled shrimp is the perfect appetizer, served right off the grill. They take minutes to cook and there is hardly any prep to be done. They’re fancy enough for company, but easy enough for every day!
The miso marinade was inspired by Donna Hay magazine. I made some adjustments to make it my own and adapt it to the taste of my family.
Just a few ingredients and flavor combinations helped me transform these ordinary shrimp into something extraordinary! To enhance even more the flavors, I added some Kikkoman soy sauce. I love it because it’s a super versatile ingredient that I can use to cook many different types of cuisines.
These Miso Grilled Shrimp sound like a pretty perfect for a Friday evening, doesn’t it? I thought so.
Happy weekend!!
