My little man is going to school!
Isn’t it amazing? Time goes so fast we don’t seem to notice until we hit a significant milestone, like school. Yes, I know; I have said this many times. But doesn’t this happen to you too? In my mind, M is just a baby who was born very recently. But the reality is that he is growing so quickly, and this mamá has mixed feelings about her baby getting older.
Thank God we found an excellent school close to home. Several people we know had spoken very highly of it. It’s just two days per week, but I think, for his age, this is the best thing. We are thrilled to have decided to send M to school this year. It will help him socialize with other children and learn how to follow the rules in another environment, which will serve him for the rest of his life.
The first day was fantastic. Not a single tear… at least not from M (I cannot say the same for myself, of course). He was very excited. Everything went off without a hitch: woke up in a good mood, ate breakfast (kind of), brushed teeth, even papá was ready on time! LOL
Here’s a pic of M on his first ride to school.
A few days before school started officially, we went to the school to meet his teachers. We were greeted by two lovely ladies who welcomed him with open arms. They took time to explain the routine to us, which includes all children putting their bags on a hook identified by their names first thing when they arrive in the morning. Here you can see my little one’s hook.
On the first day of school, M was a little overwhelmed because at least eight other children were in the room, all crying desperately… no exaggeration!
My husband and I only stayed a little while since the teachers were trying to control the other children. Although, all the commotion distracted him.
When I returned to pick him up, the teacher said, “Your child is a very happy guy. He’s always busy doing something and loves to clean up. “SCORE! At that moment, I felt very satisfied. I felt that we are doing things right for his learning and development.
We have all adjusted well to the new routine. My husband and I take turns driving him to school during the week.
The most important thing is that M is happy. He likes school so much that he even wants to go on Saturdays!
me fascina la utima foto de Mathew. Que bello esta y que nota que le guste la escuela.
