This year Thanksgiving for us was slightly rushed. As always, I ended up running around trying to get things done at last minute. Even though, I had my menu planned well in advance, things at work got really really busy, and I couldn’t go grocery shopping until the same Thanksgiving day at noon. Of course, when I got home I started cooking non stop until 7:00 pm, when we finally ate. I am so bummed I couldn’t take photos but at the time the food was ready I just wanted to sit and relax with my family.
The good news is that everything was delicious! Our menu was roasted pork with white wine and rosemary, stuffed turkey breast, potatoes and onions gratin, garlic mushrooms, parmesan crispy green beans and chocolate cake. All the pressure to do everything with such a short time was worth it when I saw my family enjoying the food… that is the whole point, right? We all sat together at the table, which is not easy to achieve, and gave thanks, shared, talked and enjoyed each other company.
This has been a wonderful year for our family in many ways. We have so many things for which to give thanks, not only the day of thanksgiving, but every day.
The most important thing in our lives are our children. Our three children are the greatest blessing that we have.
We also have to thanks for our health and the love we have in our lives. I am specially thankful for my wonderful husband which is the love of my live, my soul mate, my friend and sometime my pain in the neck.
I cannot fail to mention how grateful I am for all the wonderful opportunities I have had through my blog. I have met fantastic people and visited beautiful cities. Also I have worked with very good brands like Britax. I’m so proud to be a part of this great company which works every day to keep our children safe. I remember one of the things that most impressed me on my first visit to Britax headquarters was a board, which is located in the area of assembling, with dozens of thank you letters, from families who have experienced the tragedy of a car accident, but have a reason to be grateful because Britax’s product kept their little ones well taken care.
Which reminds me that even in the worst times we all have a reason for give thanks.
