Nutella Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature, 2 sticks
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar sifted if it's organic or has visible lumps
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream


  1. With an electric mixer on medium speed cream butter for 8 - 10 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the confectioners sugar gradually, beating after each addition.
  3. Add the Nutella, beating until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract, salt and heavy whipping cream until desired spreading consistency is reached, about 2 minutes
